Who are the British Accreditation Council for Independent Further and Higher Education (BAC)?

Established in 1984 as a joint initiative between the British Council and the Department for Education. BAC accredits more than 230 institutions in 19 countries.

BAC have developed a unique capability to work with a broad range of independent further and higher education institutions and have also worked with governments and NGOs in Bahrain, Kazakhstan and Kosovo, in capacity building projects designed to improve the governance and outcomes in further and higher education.

BAC are full members of ENQA – European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education and INQAAHE – International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education and an Affiliate member of CHEA – Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

What does having BAC accreditation mean?
